The Machine Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Requirements Engineer position in the Engineering & Integration Support (EIS) Division.

Description of division

The EIS division is the central engineering and technical division providing transversal support and services to the ESS project and organisation. The division holds as well competence within requirements, configuration and facility documentation management.

Description of main responsibilities

As Requirements Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining procedures and guidance for requirements management at ESS
• Performing analyses for eliciting requirements (risk analyses, functional analyses, use cases definitions, stakeholder analyses)
• Providing guidance and support to other divisions at ESS in their requirements management activities
• Develop and maintain ESS requirement database which is an integral part of ESS PLM (Product Life cycle Management) database
• Provide support to ESS staff by performing holistic analyses, identifying issues and to guide and assist in solutions and implementations

Qualifications

We believe that the right candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

• Master of Science in engineering or equivalent
• Skills in requirement engineering are mandatory
• Experience in the implementation of requirement engineering activities within an international project
• Experience in analysis of system architecture, system decomposition and system interface development
• Experience in system verification and validation
• Experience in large scale system development is essential
• Knowledge and experience of application of relevant international standards is an advantage
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite due to the mix of nationalities at ESS. Knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.
• Experience of working in an international environment is essential

To be successful and perform well in this position it is important to have a cooperative approach with good communication skills. You enjoy the collaboration with different stakeholders and have both the ability to listen and to convince others when needed. To analyse a situation and use your technical competence to provide the right kind of support in a systematic way comes natural to you. You are eager to structure requirements in a logical way and can work independently.

Duration & Location
The position is a fixed term position of 12 months. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
