About Us
We are looking for a Requirement Expert within Attribute Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) who can, together with our experienced team, lead us in the transformation to future requirements mainly within the area of computational electromagnetics.
The EMC department is a part of Software and Electronics Platform within Volvo Car's Product & Quality (P&Q) division. Currently we are a team of 17 and are responsible for EMC in design guidelines, requirements, analysis, simulations and tests in complete cars.
Working with EMC means that you establish and develop relationships with designers within almost all system areas of the vehicle, as well as building an understanding of the designs in those areas. The electrical content in a vehicle is rapidly growing both for propulsion and realization of functions. At the same time, the developments of automated vehicles requires new ways of working with EMC.

As Requirement Expert, you will build and maintain a wide network within Volvo Cars as well as with external partners and the academia. You will have a place where you can form your deliveries and develop your own skills. You will be responsible to build the competencies needed within Volvo Cars to enable an effective EMC development process for the future. You will also:
• Lead advanced technology development within the area.
• Deliver Vision, Mission and Strategy within the area.
• Support the company with expertise within the area from the point "what is best for Volvo Cars".
• Initiate and lead Advanced Engineering and Research on national and EU level within the area.
• Develop relations with academia through supervision of doctoral programs, thesis works etc.
• Deliver education material and teaching to the organization.
• Participate in international standardization.
• Proactively participate in seminars and conferences.
Are you our new team member?
We see our next Requirement Expert as not only being competent, confident, and perservering but also having PhD or M. Sc in electronics, physics, computational electromagnetics or other relevant area or equivalent experience. Documented experience from EMC requirement handling. Demonstrated capabilities and willingness to teach/coach/mentor. Excellent communication skills and presentation techniques. Fluent in English (written and spoken). Experience of the automotive industry or other electrical technologies.
