We are seeking a Release Train Engineer for a customer project in Gothenburg.

Background

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE's major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. RTEs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Planning release windows and the overall release lifecycle
• Coordinate and ensure the agile events (PI planning, Review, Demo, Retrospective)
• Managing risks that may affect release scope
• Manage and coordinate dependencies and releases between different teams
• First escalation point for the development teams
• Work with the teams and understand their risks and weakness
• Support the teams to understand their needs and plans.
• Understand the overall picture on how the team is in relation to the release with both technical challenges and test, Q&A need for the release.
• Since this is a central role it is important to be part of building the culture our client want to build with personal engagement and energy pared with high level of delivery.

Essential (must have) skills, knowledge and experience

• English language proficiency
• SAFe experience
• Previous experience as an RTE
• Thorough understanding of Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration (CD/CI) pipelines
• Solid delivery experience in software development

Nice to have skills, knowledge and experience

• Swedish language skills
• SAFe RTE certification

Personal attributes

• Flexible and able to balance between internal and customer interests
• Good level of positive energy

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 months

Workload: 100%

Salary: Dependent on experience
