Your role
As a Release Manager, you have role in supporting Caverion Group IT development process execution in practice. We conduct IT development by using quarterly planning and execution process. One of your tasks is to support development teams with the process when needed and to improve the process further. New features and functionalities are released into production mostly in agile manner even on weekly basis. However, platform maintenance related, and totally new solution implementations require sometimes more comprehensive release and cut-over coordination.
Your main task is overall coordination, implementation and controlling success of software releases. You work closely with Development and Operations teams to ensure that new software releases are properly tested and meet quality standards before being deployed to production environments and that the necessary documentation is up to dated.
Key responsibilities summarized:
• Coordinate activities needed for Caverion IT development process practical execution
• Develop and maintain release calendar and schedules, and track release progress for several major software applications
• Identify risks and issues that could impact the successful release of new software or feature
• Ensure that release changes, technical and business related, are properly documented, and communicated in form of release notes
• Ensure that the development and change management process go as smoothly as possible
• Keep eye on post-deployment issues and follow Releases Quality KPI's
• Continuously seek opportunities to develop and automate processes and toolset used, and coordinate such development actions
• Possibility to act also as a cut-over manager for more complex projects, in accordance with your experience and interests
• Possibility to coordinate some of the feature or solution development initiatives yourself, in accordance with your experience and interests
We value (especially) if you:
• Have experience on similar role (5+ years); for example you could have worked as developer, development manager, project manager, release manager or scrum master
• Have strong understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies
• Have excellent project management and co-operation skills
• Are a "hands-on" person who is able to do also troubleshooting and solve problems that arise during the release process
• Have good understanding in different IT technologies and the differences in their release processes
• Have experience in using JIRA and ServiceNow
• Good English communication skills, spoken and written, and preferably one of the Nordic languages or German
