With new technologies and business models increasing in importance and at high speed, the transportation and infrastructure industries are changing more and at higher pace than ever before. As the Volvo Group, we are accelerating to drive our industry forward also in these important areas. Do you want to join our journey and shape tomorrow's society together with us?

We are now looking for a Regulatory Specialist - Electromobility who will support the Volvo Group's transformation ambitions within electrification, sustainability, and circularity.

Working at Volvo Energy is different

In this role, you will be part of Group Electromobility and the Electromobility Legal Leadership Team. However, although this is a Volvo Group position, you will formally be employed by Volvo Energy, which is the newest business area within the Volvo Group. At Volvo Energy, we are a team unified by an important mission, great ideas, fun, diversity, and inclusiveness. Our colleagues are - and will always be - the most important part of the story. Each colleague truly matters and plays an important role in our journey. Consequently, whilst demands are high, there is also plenty of opportunities to learn and grow - as a professional and as a person. We will be a fairly small team and therefore look for colleagues that can hit the ground running, lead with passion, perform with purpose and transform with vision.

Key responsibilities include:
Learn, interpret, and apply the relevant European and North American regulations, including the CE marking directives, applicable to batteries and charging infrastructure.
Understand the evolving regulatory environment, map product compliance scopes for batteries and charging and ensure to create relevant policies on behalf of the Volvo Group.
Review new and changed international legislation, directives, and standards, as well as regulatory requirements relating to batteries and charging, and inform the Volvo Group colleagues of any changes.
Act as center of expertise as regards the regulatory requirements connected to batteries and charging and collaborate closely with the business and engineering teams to support them with regard to such regulatory requirements.
Advise on product documentation and labelling as well as CE-marking related content connected to batteries and charging.

Making it a success for yourself and the Volvo Group

In order to succeed in this role, it is important that you are result-driven with the ability to work independently. It is essential that you have a strong drive, always with a can-do mindset. Also, you are good at identifying initiatives and have a strong ability to form trustful relationships - inside and outside of the Volvo Group - working with our colleagues in a cross-functional manner.

Qualifications likely required to be successful:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field is merited but not a must.
Good knowledge of the European and/or North American regulatory requirements and standards relating to batteries and/or charging equipment, including CE marking directive.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Experience in product certification, as well as understanding what it takes to self-declare conformance, is merited but not a must.
Excellent communication skills, proficiency in English.
Experience from working within the energy or electromobility sector is merited.
