Registered nurse for the Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic

The Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic in Vadstena (RPR) is now looking for you who want to be involved in developing good forensic psychiatric care. All wards have now moved into nice premises in our newly built hospital. We conduct highly specialized forensic psychiatric inpatient care, with staff who have a broad competence profile.

We have a county-wide, regional and national mission. Responsible for inpatient care of mentally disturbed offenders and for compulsory care of mentally ill patients from prison care, arrests and psychiatric units. Several of our efforts take place in collaboration with other health and social actors, such as courts, prison services, the police, primary municipalities and other health care units within the region. We have about 190 employees and 86 inpatient places. The clinic has 6 care units, outpatient care, investigation and treatment unit and administration.

Job description
We offer a varied work in psychiatric care. You work with different diagnoses and functions in the care chain from intake to exclusion. In our work, we start from a holistic perspective where we in multi-professional teams work closely with the patient. You are an important part of the team, you observe, work closely with your closest employees where you have an obvious leading role, collaboration provides great conditions for a strong and good feeling in the working group. Forensic psychiatric care usually involves long care periods, which give us the opportunity to follow the patients' development over a longer period of time, support their recovery and the opportunity to cope with life in society.

Requirements
Registered medical license within the EU/EEA
Basic computer skills in Microsoft office
English and Swedish language skills

Education and experience
We are looking for registered nurses that can apply for any of the following descriptions:

Specialist-trained psychiatric nurse
Experienced nurse from various areas of activity, both municipality and health and medical care
Newly graduated nurse with an interest in psychiatry

Previous postgraduate education and / or interest in defending and conducting research of relevance to the work is seen as meritorious.

You are a team player who contributes positively to the team and has a personal maturity. You do this by listening and communicating in a constructive way. As a person, you are stable and have easy to adapt to your way of working when circumstances so require. You are a person who works well with others, has a positive attitude towards the workplace and the ability to work efficiently.

Terms of employment
Before moving to Sweden you need to reach a certain level in the Swedish language and have your medical training recognized by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/en/licence-application/.

The employment will start with a trial period, combined with further language studies. If the trial period will be proved satisfactory and you demonstrate required skills recognized by the County Council of Östergötland, it will automatically turn into a permanent employment.

All contracts follow local and national collective agreements. Salary are set individually depending on your qualification and experience.
