The goal of Sourcing is to develop and implement the best strategies to drive the supply market according to SMC needs.
Key performance areas
As Regional Category Manager your responsibilities will be, among other things, to:
• Lead your European sourcing team within the electrics category
• Manage areas such as total cost of ownership, capacity, supplier quality and supplier performance within the category
• Develop and optimize purchasing routines and tools
• Initiate and run development and improvement projects with suppliers and internal departments, as well as identify new suppliers
• Negotiate with suppliers and write contracts
• Manage the supplier base; utilize synergies and volume benefits within all product segments for the business area Sandvik Mining and Construction
• Contribute to the global category teamwork, such as developing strategies
• Ensure implementation of the category strategies in Europe
As the Regional Category Manager you will be actively working with Research and Development, Production and the Global Product Lines. Your individual targets are based on KPIs, on regional team performance, total cost development, supplier performance and quality.
Your profile
You hold a university degree, are professional in sourcing and have good skills in negotiation and supplier base management. Excellent communication and coordination skills are required. As the position entails manager responsibility for employees, experience of this kind is advantageous. Work experience with electrical components and/or automation is also advantageous.
As an individual you have a structured, systematic and analytical approach to work. Additonally, you are motivated and independent, with the ability to create networks and build teams.
The position involves some travel within Europe, up to a maximum of 50 days annually.
