The Stockholm School of Economics is seeking a Reference & Engagement Librarian (Team leader)

We are seeking to employ a librarian who is interested in developing the service to our library users and in promoting knowledge of our library's multifaceted resources.

This is a permanent position.

Your main tasks:

- In collaboration with library colleagues and campus partners, design, implement and assess library instructional services and outreach activities
- During the first one to two years of employment, take care of the daily planning of the library's customer service team
- Promote library resources and services in social media, through events and on our website
- Contribute to the collection development team by monitoring relevant resources
- Additional various tasks according to interests and organizational needs

Your qualifications

- Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent education
- Experience in customer service and reference work, preferably from an academic library
- Experience and interest in the library's educational mission
- Knowledge of library systems, catalogues and databases
- Experience in project management and/or team leadership
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Swedish and English
- Desire and skill to adapt to emerging technologies to enhance user experience and engagement
- Having academic knowledge of social and economic sciences is a plus

In order to be successful in this role, you must be service oriented and interested in user-centered approaches to service development. It is essential that you have excellent skills in both collaboration and leadership. We are committed to the continuing professional development of our colleagues and work in a medium/small academic library with a large mission. This means that the tasks and responsibilities of our librarians are various and develop according to interests and organizational needs. While the focus of this position is on reference and engagement, we encourage candidates who have a broad interest in library services.

About the Library

The SSE Library is a highly digitized information and knowledge hub supporting and empowering researchers and students to find fact based and creative ways to conduct scholarly work. Furthermore, the library is a natural partner for the dissemination and utilization of scholarly output as well as in research and learning analytics. The library is also a physical space for reflection and exploration, situated in what may be the most beautiful part of the original Ivar Tengbom building on Sveavägen 65.
