The Receptionist, under the supervision of the Consular Officer, has primary responsibility for responding to calls from the public, as well as receiving Embassy visitors and clients. The incumbent also provides administrative support to the Administration section as needed.

This position is open to individuals who meet all of the essential requirements, the Conditions of Employment stated below, and whose applications are received by the closing date.
Essential Qualifications:
Education:
High school degree from a recognized institution.
Language:
Fluency in English (oral and written)
Fluency in Swedish (oral and written)
Experience:
Recent* experience working at a Canadian mission abroad as receptionist
• Recent is defined as within the last two years
Knowledge:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices
Competencies:
Effective communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and client focus
Sound judgment
Superior organizational and time-management skills
Superior attention to detail
Adaptability/Flexibility (flexible and able to adapt to changing work pressures and range of tasks)
Asset Qualifications:
Competency in reading, writing, and speaking French
Experience with Canada's passport program
Organizational Needs:
Operational Requirements:
Ability to work overtime outside normal working hours
Ability to work on Swedish holidays when the Embassy is open
Ability to adhere strictly to the working hours (below)
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 with an hour lunch 12:00 to 13:00
Conditions of Employment:
Eligible to reside and work in Sweden
A valid Reliability Status clearance from the Government of Canada

If screened candidates need any special assistance in terms of attending exams or interviews, they must notify the Embassy when invited to participate in the selection process.
The results of this competition may also be used to establish an eligibility list for similar openings at the Embassy.
