Realisation Responsible Traction Battery Functional Design

The department Electrical Propulsion Systems, EPS, (allocated within Powertrain unit) is responsible for developing high-voltage batteries, electrical machines, DC/DC converters and on-board chargers for electrical and hybrid vehicles. The department is responsible for both hardware and software development and have tight cooperation with Powertrain since the propulsion aspect of the systems is the main focus. Thus, customer focus and drivability are always in focus during daily work.

Do you want to contribute to the next generation of plug-in hybrid and fully electrical vehicles? You will be a part of the group Traction Battery Diagnostics & Software Management, whose main target is to develop and maintain software for high-voltage batteries at EPS. Our software is used in both plug-in hybrid vehicles and in the coming BEV (Battery Electrical Vehicle). The software is both developed together with a supplier and in-house. As Subfunction Realisation Responsible Functional Diagnostics you will be working in a team of persons specifying functions in the battery management system. You will cooperate closely with the diagnostic engineers responsible for the different projects as they work with the overall diagnostic setup. You will also be responsible from idea to verified solution working together either with supplier or in-house SW team. Testing and verification will be performed with our test team together with your assistance.

Main responsibilities

• Be the interface between the Function Owner and the electrical system
• Ensuring that the subsystem will realise functional diagnostics requirements
• Writing requirements within the scope of functional diagnostics
• Ensuring that calibration and testing is performed
• Performing reviews and providing documents to supplier
• Handling software defect reports in issue management systems
• Analysing field reports within functional diagnostic scope

Required qualifications

• University degree in engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience from SW requirement specification and/or testing
• Extensive experience of diagnostic usage in aftermarket, manufacturing and development
• Fluent in English written and spoken
• Driving license
• Skills in model based development is meritorious
• ASIL experience in practice is meritorious
