hela Sverige Our current Regional RD&I Director EMEIA will be pursuing new challenges and therefore we have an immediate opening for his successor who can fulfil the following key role for Surface Chemistry EMEIA in Stenungsund. This is a permanent position on full time basis reporting the BU RDI Director, Staffan Asplund.

BU Surface Chemistry offers our customers surface chemistry solutions delivering a range of functionalities. We have a broad product line of over 2000 products and formulations for twelve business segments/markets. The BU has a growth strategy with differentiated focus for the different market segments. Our commercial organization and RD&I work closely together to identify and realize opportunities and we have high expectations on RDI to deliver innovations as well as effective customer and manufacturing support.
We have organized RD&I along three different types of teams:
Global R&D Teams, working on longer term Research and major developments.
Expertise Teams, providing competence and capabilities in Analytics, Synthesis and Process Development.
TS&D Teams, providing Technical Service and running Incremental Development projects for the respective market segment.
You will be leading the European RD&I organization consisting of segment focused TS&D teams and three Expertise teams. The organization is located in three RD&I Centers; Stenungsund, Mumbai and Deventer. In this position you have nine direct reports and oversee an organization of in total 70 people.
The key challenge of this role is to support our growth agenda by delivering product innovations, process improvements and customer support. It is vital to engage with the commercial colleagues to make sure that the organization is aligned with the needs of our customers and that the RDI capabilities are deployed and developed in the best possible way.
Requirements
We are looking for you with a university degree, PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and minimum 10 years of relevant working experience within R&D, technology or other related areas and at least 5 years of people manager?s experience. You have a broad experience of different aspects of R&D / technology, good understanding of intellectual property (IP) management, and you are familiar with project management practices and tools.
You have strong leadership and coaching skills and have been exposed to working and impacting on a global level. You have experience in innovation leadership both internal and collaborative with customers.
Good business acumen is a key element for success and we believe that you have good interpersonal and communication skills, Ability to plan and organize your work in a result oriented way is a given as well as being able to perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
You like to challenge and coach your team and stakeholders. You are open and approachble with high integrity.
You are of course fluent in English both verbal and written.
