Raw material is part of business controlling at Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing. We develop and deploy raw material market expertise, tools, methods and governance that enables the Volvo Group to secure and enhance its raw material related performance and thus provide a competitive advantage to its brands.
Our team of 10 is globally spread across Asia, Europe and the Americas and is considered a center of excellence on raw material (commodity) markets. Our expertise is used to support and control Volvo Group Purchasing to ensure Volvo Group's competitiveness and eventually our customers' success. Working together in a global team is definitely an opportunity for some interesting cross-cultural experiences.
Today within the team, we are fairly exhaustive on our understanding of the traditional automotive raw materials (steel, base metals, plastics, natural rubber etc.). As part of the electro mobility transformation journey, we are now looking to expand our expertise in the new technology materials (Lithium hydroxide, Cobalt, Manganese etc.) so that we continue to provide, the more than ever needed competitive advantage to our brands.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
This position is to be the center of expertise when it comes to knowledge on the raw material market for the new technology raw materials. As part of the job, you will consolidate and use all internal and external business intelligence available, perform value chain analysis to understand the position/influence of different related factors in the commodity market. Based on identified, reliable business intelligence you will provide periodic market forecasts. You will on a regular basis support buyers in negotiation, participate in cost workshops, supply chains activities and provide contractual guidance to the Volvo Group Purchasing organization. Keeping sustainability in perspective on these commodities, is key. You will lead/contribute as needed to the raw material strategies within Volvo Group Purchasing.

Required knowledge/experience
In this position you will be part of the raw material business controlling team and report to the director - raw material. To be successful in your new role we want you have the following knowledge/experience:
University/Master's degree in science, engineering, economics or finance
Commodity market knowledge/experience (New technology materials: Lithium hydroxide, Cobalt, Manganese etc.)
Analytical & critical thinking
Ability to work efficiently independently as well as in a team
Fluent English, written and spoken
