Position Summary
The Digital Radio Implementation Unit is one of several Units responsible for the development of new Radio Hardware Units which is a part of Ericsson's base stations development for GSM, WCDMA, LTE, 5G and future standards. The main responsibility for the Team is the antenna near signal processing blocks implemented in ASICs, FPGAs and/or structured ASICs. Our daily mission consists of implementing linearization algorithms for efficiency enhancement solutions for RF amplifiers, as well as implementation of other support functionality needed in the Radio Units.
Job Description
As a Developer in the Digital Radio Implementation Unit, you will be involved in all parts of the product development process from technical studies to research, pre-development, and design for high volume products. Together with the Team, you will be responsible for delivering part of the Digital Radio on-chip design for the Ericsson Radio Units. To achieve this goal, you will work together with algorithm Developers, Digital signal processing experts, as well as highly skilled Engineers within the Radio area.
The job includes
• Digital Signal processing implementations in ASIC and FPGA devices;
• FPGA implementations for Digital Radio Front-End (e.g. peak power reduction, channel filtering);
• Control interface and support functionality needed in the Radio Units;
• Advanced troubleshooting and Customer support.
Position Qualifications
Core Competences:
• Master Degree, or PhD, in electrical engineering or engineering physics or similar work experience;
• At least 5 years of work experience in relevant area;
• Competence within the field of signal processing, Telecommunication and Radio Technology;
• Knowledge of synthesis (e.g. Synplify, Synopsys DC) and place&route (e.g. ISE, Vivado, Quartus, etc.);
• Familiar with version control tools;
• Programming skills (Matlab, SystemVerilog/SystemC, Tcl, Python, C/C++);
• Processor architectures;
• Ability to work in a Global environment with good written and verbal skills in English.
