Your workplace
Security and Defence Solutions, a business area of Saab, offers command and control systems, airborne early warning systems, civil security systems and solutions, training and simulation, as well as telecom carrier.
At the division for Communication Systems, we develop software based products and solutions for land-, naval- and airbased military communication systems. The department for communication development is located in Järfälla and Linköping. With Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Networking technologies as a base we do product development and research. Presently we are involved in several exciting projects with international stakeholders and are looking for skilled engineers and researchers to our site in Järfälla.
Your role
Developer of Algorithms for the physical layer.
Saab has recently developed a miniaturized Software Defined Radio, where most of the signal processing in the physical layer is performed in software in a DSP or in programmable hardware in an FPGA.
Your main responsibilities will be to define, analyze, implement, and evaluate signal processing algorithms for the physical layer for different radio protocols. This also includes partitioning of functionality between
the FPGA and the DSP.
You will also take part in the specification and design of the complete radio protocol stack, where you will be the physical layer expert.
Your qualifications
You presumably hold a BSc or MSc, and have several years of work experience. You like working in a team, but can also work independently.
• You are interested in and have knowledge of digital signal processing and modern modulation methods.
• Preferrably, you should also have experience in implementing signal processing chains in an FPGA and/or DSP.
