We are looking for our new Research & Development (R&D) Manager to strengthen our team in HVDC, a business unit within Hitachi Energy. In this role you will lead a diverse group of engineers working in a dynamic environment, striving towards quality and on time delivery, while keeping safety and integrity in mind. This is an exciting role with close collaboration with different departments and teams at Hitachi Energy both locally and globally. You will work in the Embedded systems R&D team, responsible for FPGA and Embedded SW development in the MACH Platform.

Your responsibilities
Lead, support and motivate a team of 20 experienced engineers.
Develop and drive continuous improvement activities to optimize processes, policies, procedures, and team effectiveness.
Working closely with customers to shape and deliver technical solutions and utilizing feedback to drive the delivery of innovative improvements and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Maintain and develop great relationships with internal and external contacts.
Contribute to ensure that the cross functional teams are adequately resourced to meet business needs.
Budget responsibility and take ownership of managing business performance against agreed-upon financial targets.

In addition to the manager role, you will also be an active part in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) such as Epic Owner, Product Owner or similar.
Your background
As a leader you are inspirational, authentic, customer-focused, and empowering.
You have a Bachelor or Master's in Engineering, preferably with an electronics development focus.
You have an interest in team management and development and it's a merit if you have experience in leadership/management roles.
You have a solid understanding of FPGA and/or Embedded SW Development.
You are a curious person with the drive to challenge yourself and the organization for continuous development in both short and long term.
You are committed towards safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
Experience with Agile development process is meriting, preferably within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
As you will be part of a company that operates on a global arena, fluent in English is required.
