hela Sverige Telecommunication operators are currently shifting to IP networks to be able to make use of network architectures already in place (e.g. Internet). In that scenario it is needed also to handle the Quality of Service aspects for the total network. This application is for a Master thesis work on Master level, in the area of IP RAN (radio access network), to evaluate the handling of QoS handling and also see possible tool for the QoS handling, according the following steps
Description
Automatic QoS configuration in IP RAN.
In today's IP RAN QoS configuration is done manually in each device along the transmission path including the end nodes. It would be interesting to see if it would be possible to implement a way to automatically convey QoS information within the IP RAN.
Tool for generating QoS configuration information for IP RAN. As an addition to the investigation also look into a tool that can produce ready to use QoS configuration information. Different devices and nodes do have different QoS capabilities. A tool could take into account these capabilities, and map those capabilities with traffic classification and traffic prioritization requirements for IP RAN.
Qualifications
You have a good technical knowledge on product/system and a good understanding on business. You enjoy working with customer and can provide technical solution base on customer requirements. You are self-motivated, with the drive to solve problems and expand your knowledge. You like to cooperate with others to help each other to reach the common goals.
You should also have an university degree or above in telecommunication, computer science or equivalent.
Experience within telecommunication system or data communication or system integration.
Good written and spoken English
