The role

• NKT invests heavily within the research and development area and has a pioneering track record with several recent world records such as the recently qualified 640 kV extruded DC cable system.

As an R&D Specialist you will therefore contribute to the development of cutting-edge high voltage cable technology that enables the transformation to sustainable energy.

Your main tasks will be
• Development of technologies for High Voltage Cable Systems, for both AC and DC power transmission.
• Analysis and simulation of electrical and thermal effects in HV cable systems, including development of analysis methods and tools.
• Creation of test plans, developing test methods and evaluation of test result.
• Support business units with technical expertise, related to for instance customer support, patents, root cause analysis and similar.

You will be part of a highly skilled team, based in Karlskrona in the southern part of Sweden, with great possibilities for personal development and specialization.

Your profile
You have a Master of Science degree in high voltage engineering, physics, mathematics or similar. If you in addition have performed your disputation this is meritorious.

Skills in Comsol, Matlab and/or similar software is beneficial.

Since you will support several R&D Project teams and collaborate with engineering departments, external parties and NKT customers we expect you to have excellent communication skills. You need to be fluent in English. German, Swedish and/or Danish is preferred.
As a person you are driven, innovative, with a systematic and problem-solving mindset. It is equally important that you enjoy working in a diverse environment and appreciate that problems are solved by team work.
