Your new team
The R&D department at Seco Tools in Fagersta are responsible for materials and product development of cemented carbides for cutting tools. Our highly competent and supporting team of doctors and engineers within different areas of expertise actively engage in our common mission to develop the future of cemented carbides. Your mission
As a specialist within your area, you develop and test new materials and material compositions, with a special focus on the sintering process. You evaluate the most suitable methods, tools and processes, working closely together with product development and production, while also engaging in external projects in collaboration with universities around Europe. In addition, you continually develop your own knowledge, as you capture and develop new ideas and apply them in a way that adds value to the business. You share skills and best practices, and support colleagues in professional growth while taking responsibility for our abilities to deliver.
Where's the office?
We offer a hybrid workplace, where presence in Fagersta is desired at least three days a week. Planned travel is part of the job, within Sweden as well as internationally.
Your profile
We're looking for someone with a relevant master's degree, and preferably a PhD. Solid knowledge of cemented carbides and sintering is needed, and it's beneficial with experience using Thermo-Calc. You also need general material knowledge and skills in different experimental evaluation methods concerning metals and ceramics, e.g. thermogravimetric analysis and electron microscopy. As we work in an international environment, you have a high level of communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing, while knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
