HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within Hitachi Energy located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems. This is an essential technology for the global energy transition.
We are now looking for a R&D PMO (Project Management Office) Manager. In this role you will lead a global team of R&D Project managers driving the development of advanced system, valve and digitalization solutions for HVDC.

In this position you have the opportunity of creating networks, cherish human relations as well as to working independently with your team towards clear deadlines.
Your responsibilities
Develop and grow our global team of R&D Project Managers to handle complex HVDC related R&D projects, from pre-studies to technology and product development.
Ensure the competence of the R&D Project Managers to execute the R&D portfolio following the Hitachi Energy's Gate model for development.
Establish and continuously update HVDC specific R&D development processes supporting the R&D for Scale strategy of HVDC .
Uphold the governance of the R&D portfolio in alignment with stakeholders of the global HVDC and R&D organization. Develop, measure and follow up on key performance indicators.
Appoint project managers to specific R&D projects in alignment with R&D portfolio management. Support resource planning in R&D projects, the initial setup and efforts estimations of the R&D projects.
Drive PMO department specific strategic initiatives to further improve the performance of the entire R&D team.
Your background
To be successful in this position we see that you have previous project management experience and a degree in civil engineering.
You are structured, driven and like to continuously improve processes and come with new ideas.
As a leader you have good listening & influencing skills to build trust in your team and with different stakeholders.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills
Knowledge in product development management and agile development processes
Fluency in English is required, both written and spoken.
