We are now looking for an R&D Professional to join our team, being responsible for sintering and materials design. These values not only reflect a shared view of the business, they also unite our Seco employees across both geographical and cultural borders.Your missionIn this position, you are part of a highly competent and supporting team of doctors and engineers within different areas of expertise. Your responsibilities as an R&D Professional include developing and testing new materials and material compositions, focusing on the sintering process and the design of new alloys. You evaluate the most suitable methods, tools and processes, and you work closely together with the product development department and our customers to manage internal and external projects in collaboration with universities around Europe. In addition, you continually develop your own knowledge, as you capture and develop new ideas and apply them in a way that adds value to the business. You also share skills and best practices, and support colleagues in professional growth while taking responsibility for our abilities to deliver. While the location for this position is flexible, presence in Fagersta is required at least three days a week. Planned travel is part of the job, within Sweden as well as internationally. Your profileWe are looking for someone with a relevant degree, such as in Materials Science, Materials Design, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Chemistry. General material knowledge and skills in different experimental evaluation methods concerning metals and ceramics; e.g. light optical microscopy and electron microscopy, is needed. Knowledge of cemented carbides and sintering, including theoretical and practical work on furnaces, is an advantage. As we work in an international environment, you have a high level of communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing, while knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
