Genuine interest in our customers' success, our family spirit and personal commitment are the values that summarize our corporate culture. These values not only reflect a shared view of the business, they also unite Seco's employees across both geographical and cultural borders.

The main mission for the Insert Tools organization is to support Seco Tools businesses through the development of new, innovative products; insert grades and insert carriers for turning, milling, drilling and threading applications. Grades & Methods, a part of Insert Tools, is responsible for developing new grades and we manage and drive all grade development projects for Seco globally. Our project managers have full responsibility of the grade development process, from idea to finished product ready for sale. We are also responsible for working with method development in four technical areas - tribology science, test methods machining, Laser/AM and MAP/PIM tool design - and we support the organization in grade related issues.

We are now looking for an R&D Manager for Grades & Methods in Fagersta - an experienced and confident leader with a sincere interest for taking the team to the next level. This is a great possibility to work in a global organization - with the Insert Tools teams spread over our sites in Sweden, France and India - and making an impact on both our business and your own career.

Your mission
In this position, you are responsible for the overall performance and delivery of the Grades & Methods team; a driven team of experts with a will to develop both our products and themselves. You ensure that they have the space and opportunities to achieve this development, keeping them engaged and motivated while delivering results in alignment with set goals and strategies. You cooperate with other managers within Insert Tools; ensuring synergies and sharing best practices to move the organization forward together.

With your technical knowledge, critical thinking and coaching leadership skills, you know when to step in and assist the team and when to stand back. Furthermore, you are responsible for staff and career development, salaries, EHS, managing workforce diversity and organizational change. You are also a member of the Seco R&D Insert Tools management team.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in Materials Engineering, Technical Engineering or a similar field of studies. You have at least five years' experience from successfully leading an R&D team, with experience from change management and a solid understanding of the Sandvik business. Since we act in a global environment, you have good skills in both written and verbal English, while knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.

We truly value your personal qualities. You are a strong leader with great communication skills and have the ability to plan operations; both tactical and strategical. Using your drive and your people skills, you network and create prosperous relationships both internally and with external stakeholders. You like challenging yourself and thinking outside the box, always with a broad perspective of the business in mind.

At Seco, we believe that diversity of experience, perspective and background will lead to a better environment for our employees, our business and, thereby, our customers.
