hela Sverige The tap-changer department is responsible for the major development activities related to tap-changers within ABB. You will in this role collaborate with other R&D development departments and different ABB Corporate Research centers globally to achieve optimal solutions. You will have staff responsibilities for a team of 10-15 direct reports. As a member of the management team for the BU technology center as well as the tap changers, you will lead and distribute work tasks and drive technology projects, develop efficient work processes to increase productivity, you and your team will give key input to the strategic product and project portfolio for tap changers. The environment we are working in is characterized by structure and creativeness.
In the project execution as well as in the strategic planning you will interact with the global product manager for tap-changers as well as the global technology manager for the product group.
To qualify for this position you have the ability to lead and develop teams as well as individuals, you have a strong drive to succeed together with your team. You have formal education from a relevant engineering field.
You have hands on working experience related to product development, team and/or project-management. A basic understanding of work related to IP and the ability to work with remote teams in a global environment will help.
On a personal level, you are good communicator have a general technical interest and are driven by curiosity.
Experience with R&D portfolio planning; lean R&D, module based development, DMF/DFA/FMEA/QFD, modularization and concurrent engineering. Use of simulation tools to facilitate R&D, digitalization and mechatronics will be considered advantageous.
You will be part of the BU Technology center in Ludvika. The center have R&D activities related to transformers, reactors, bushings, insulation and tap-changers. It supports the Business Unit Transformers globally, with a strong connection to the local factories and organizations. The center is responsible to support and lead the continued research and development of these products, products that have a worldwide market.
Transformers and its components have been developed and manufactured in ABB, in Ludvika since the early 20th century. It is also where you find ABB's largest manufacturer of transformers, tap changers and bushings in one single location.
