We are now looking for a R&D Laboratory Engineer for our Innovation centre for Biomaterials.

Tasks
You will be involved in cutting edge research projects in the field of bio-based materials from trees. You will be working in the laboratory with ongoing innovation projects in close collaboration with colleagues from the R&D teams, and you will be part of a dynamic international and interdisciplinary environment. We have high focus on health and safety, and as part of the role you will work actively with these aspects together with colleagues.
Your main tasks will be to plan and carry out material processing and characterization in the laboratory including sample preparation, running standardized tests as well as routine material handling. You will use optical, thermal and mechanical methods to characterize the materials. In your work you will be recording, evaluating and documenting experimental and analytical data using LIMS, ELN and other documentation platforms.
Requirements
A material science, chemistry or other relevant degree is a prerequisite, and it is a plus if you have 1-3 years of experience of laboratory work. Alternatively, you have been working in a chemical / material science laboratory for 10 or more years and can build upon a strong and broad chemistry / material science knowledge. You are skilled in Office and it is good if you are familiar with LIMS and ELN. Preferably you have knowledge in polymer and composite material characterization techniques.
You have good team work and communication skills and enjoy working hands on in a laboratory environment. As a person, you consider yourself to be a structured and well-organized professional who considers safety the most important thing. Excellent skills in verbal and written English are required.
