hela Sverige You will be part of the global R&D organization of Substations, which develops solutions for substations comprising high and medium voltage apparatus, FACTS and battery energy storage systems. Our R&D engineers design innovative substation solutions for renewable grid integration, shore-to-ship power supply and railway feeding. The team operates in close cooperation with another R&D department located in Switzerland, several corporate research centers and engineering organizations world-wide.
Tasks
Would you like to work in a global and dynamic R&D organization and develop your career within technology? We are now looking for two R&D Engineers with focus on Power Systems ? one with expertise and interest in programming and IT. Both of you will be part of the System Development department, responsible for developing optimal systems including power electronics equipment.
Together with your colleagues, you will work with development, implementation and testing of control and protection strategies, system integration of power converter solutions as well as power system modeling and analysis. The person with more expertise in programming and IT will, on top of the above, develop design tools for different substation applications and handle simulation models in different environments.

Requirements
Do you have knowledge and a strong interest in power electronics and power systems? Then this can be the right challenge for you. You hold a Masters? in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems, Power Electronics or Control Techniques. For the position focusing on IT and programming, knowledge in C++ and experience from PSCAD, Matlab and Simulink environments is required. Additionally, knowledge of VHDL is highly valued.
To succeed in either of these positions, you need to be an innovative and creative problem solver with the will to learn and take on new challenges. You are detail focused and structured with the flexibility to work with various tasks and the ability to collaborate with others. As you will work in a global environment with international contacts, especially with the R&D group in Switzerland, fluency in English is required, whereas the ability to communicate in Swedish and/or German is beneficial. Experience from working or studying in an international environment is therefore also a plus as well as a couple of years? experience from a relevant field within ABB or other similar industry.
