The Metal Cutting Modeling department specialize in modeling and simulation of hard materials and the metal cutting process, and support the product development within Sandvik Coromant, both in Sandviken and at other sites globally. Our aim is to make the way of working knowledge-based, and we are now looking for two R&D Engineers to join us on this journey. This is a unique opportunity to work with modeling in a highly competent team, where you get to learn about and develop skills within many different products and technologies.
These positions are located in Sandviken.
Key performance areas
In this position, you support projects within the areas of product development, knowledge development and application development with knowledge of modeling and simulation, using for example solid mechanics and the Finite Element Method (FEM). You perform analysis and problem solving in collaboration with different departments and projects, and you take ownership of, and follow through on, the analysis. With deep knowledge in modeling of cutting tools and the metal cutting process you support and educate colleagues and contribute to increase our capabilities in modeling and simulation.
We are looking for someone with a Master of Science in for example Engineering Physics or Mechanical Engineering. You have at least two years' experience working with solid mechanics and FEM. Knowledge of the metal cutting industry is an advantage. Since we work in an international setting, you communicate easily in English, both written and verbal, while skills in Swedish is beneficial.
