Eka Chemicals is a leading supplier of bleaching chemicals, paper chemicals and systems to the pulp and paper industry throughout the world, and supplies certain special chemicals to the pharmaceuticals industry, water treatment, the electronics industry etc.
The unit Technology & Engineering has 130 employees within three departments; Process R&D, Global Technology and Eka Engineering.
Our ambition is that Eka Chemicals shall be the most competitive supplier to the Pulp & Paper industry. Our mission is to develop, implement and own Eka?s technologies and be leading in operational excellence. We create sustainable and continuous improvements of Ekas technologies and provide solutions for profitable business concepts.
The Process R&D department focuses on research and development of existing and new chemical manufacturing processes and develops efficient production processes for new products.
For long term process development of our Hydrogen Peroxide and Sodium Chlorate technologies we are now looking for an R&D Engineer for the Hydrogen Peroxide & Chlorate group within Process R&D, Bohus with immediate start.
Responsibilities
Plan and carry out projects and programs within Process R&D.
Actively perform process development and process optimization around process/production of chemicals, initially focused on our sodium chlorate process.
Work includes planning, carrying out activities in lab, pilot units and at production sites as well as documenting, evaluation, reporting and presentation results.
Participate in projects within R&D, Eka Engineering and Global Technology.
Contribute to innovation by bringing ideas all the way to implementation.
Create and maintain a well developed network with production units, other internal research and technology units, relevant suppliers and customers.
Job requirement
University Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar discipline.
Some experience from development, production and/or process technology.
Good practical capability for expermental work in lab, pilot and production environment
Good communication skills, particularly in English, both oral and in writing. Skills in additional languages in geographies relevant to the business are welcome.
A preparedness to do some travelling, mostly in Sweden but occasionally elsewhere.
We are looking for someone who is a good team player and communicator, and willing to take a strong responsibility for delivering results while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
