hela Sverige Diab Group is growing and we are now looking for an R&D Engineer, to join the team at our site in Laholm, Sweden. This position offers exciting opportunities to work with world-class products and solutions in a highly skilled environment. This position also offers the possibility to follow the entire product development process, meaning that you will have the chance to work with various phases for our products and solutions.
The position
You will be an important part of our R&D team which is composed of skilled engineers with a high level of technical interest and expertise. The team members are based in both Laholm and Longarone, Italy. You will collaborate with your colleagues at both sites, but also towards production and product maintenance. There is also contact with third party institutes, such as universities and research institutions.
The main part of the position will be to work with process and product development on our PET core materials. This will include planning and testing of process conditions, especially in pilot-scale production, but also in full-scale production. You will also assist in product development projects. Examples of responsibilities and tasks are:
• Plan, perform and report pilot-scale PET production trials
• Support and take part in full-scale PET production trials
• Work with polymer characterization by, for instance rheometry, thermal techniques and spectroscopic techniques
• Take part in investment projects
• Help out with technical support and solving equipment issues
• Take part in documenting machine improvements and process specifications
Some travelling will be a part of this position, and during the introduction period and the first 3-6 months, 1-2 weeks per month will be spent at our production site in Longarone, Italy.
Your profile
We expect you to be a dedicated team player with a can-do attitude and we believe that you enjoy taking initiatives and drive improvements. You need to act agile and encourage new ways of looking at challenges, processes or solutions. Moreover, we expect you to be reliable by taking accountability and deliver on time. Efficiency is very important for us and requires you to identify work structures and processes that creates most value. You also need to be good at summarize, clarify and visualize information with the purpose of creating understanding and attention. We are very customer focused and it is therefore crucial to have that mind-set and make sure our customers are satisfied so we can provide them with the best products and solutions.
Preferably, you have a MSc. in chemical, polymer or mechanical engineering or similar. You could either be newly graduated or have maximum three years of relevant work experience from plastics and/or material industry. It is an additional merit if you have knowledge and hands-on experience from extrusion and/or compounding equipment. We also expect you to have an understanding of polymer properties and characterization, e.g. rheology, spectroscopic and thermal techniques. Your English is fluent both spoken and written and if your Swedish is not fluent, you should be willing to learn it.
