To our R&D laboratories, we are now looking for an experienced R&D Engineer Soil Mechanics.
Main tasks as R&D Engineer Soil Mechanics
To plan, to outline, to coordinate and to execute Soil Mechanics R&D within fields relevant for Vattenfall, in particular Hydro, Wind and Nuclear Waste Management.
To contribute to dam safety improvements of embankment dams.
To provide technical support to Business Area Wind.
To ensure a leading-edge knowledge level as well as ensure internal skills transfer.
Qualifications
Preferably, you hold a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or equivalent. You have ten years of useful work experience in soil mechanics . You are used to lead complex projects including laboratory and experimental tasks . Probably, you are familiar with finite element calculations. Professional practice with soil mechanics in hydropower or in wind power is advantageous. Within your field of expertise, you are an innovative and internationally well reputed specialist. You have a good command of written and spoken English and as possible, Swedish.

You enjoy networking also on an international level and you truly believe that knowledge-sharing and cooperation leads to better results.

Within Staff Function Business Strategy, Research & Development is responsible for conducting business driven technical development that creates value for the company, and that helps us realizing our strategy. The unit is also responsible for providing Technical Specialist Services within important areas like hydro and nuclear power. The unit employs approximately 150 people located in Sweden and Denmark.
