We are now looking for an R&D Engineer for Grades & Methods in Fagersta. As there are many sides to this exciting role, we have the possibility to shape it based on your background. We are looking for either a senior or a junior candidate with a sincere passion for cutting processes and grade development. Your missionIn this position, you are involved in the whole process from first idea until finalized product and patenting. This includes taking a proactive approach to our own work; constantly evaluating our ways of working and best practices to ensure that we stay ahead of the game. To enable efficient processes, you work in close cooperation with global product managers and local markets; enabling us to solve customer problems within a defined time frame. Sharing skills and best practices is an important key to success, both within your own function and with other internal networks. You evaluate methods, tools and processes to ensure continuous improvements, while following given instructions and guidelines. Are you a more senior candidate with a coaching approach?Then this is a great opportunity to take responsibility regarding patents, and for our customers within areas such as the aerospace industry - and the advanced materials that come with it. Your personality is important to us, and we want you to shape this role and your future together with us, based on your skills and passions. We are looking for someone with a Masters' in a relevant field, preferably Materials Design, and experience from working in the field with customer applications. It's also important that you're well situated with the types of situations that might rise within the area, as this enables you to take a proactive approach. You're also familiar with cutting processes and experience from the steel industry is an advantage. Experience from working with product development within the area is a dream come true for us, while knowledge of people management, leadership and project management is beneficial.Are you a junior engineer with a passion for cutting processes?This role offers you extensive opportunities for development and for making connections within an exciting and global industry. If you have a sincere interest in this area in combination with a self-motivated drive to develop your skills, you have the possibility to profile yourself and build a career in multiple directions. We are looking for someone with a Masters' in a relevant field - preferable Materials Design - and previous experience from working with materials development within the steel industry, including good knowledge of insert tooling. Since we act on the global stage, you are fluent in both written and verbal English, while skills in Swedish - or the desire to learn - is advantageous since we work in close cooperation with the Swedish production facilities.
