We at ABB Robotics R&D are looking for an R&D engineer with experience in power electronics and functional safety for critical control systems. With the production and test labs in the same location at Finnslätten in Västerås, we have great opportunities to collaborate closely with all cross-functions and see the physical product become real throughout the projects. You will join a highly experienced yet humble team of engineers where you will have great opportunity to learn and grow. Your responsibilities
Development of power electronics and safety critical systems
Safety documentation for certification institutes (e.g.ISO 10218-1, IEC 13849-1, IEC 61508).
Requirements management
Write test specifications, perform tests and document results
Perform risk analysis (e.g. FMEAs, FMEDAs)
Other assignments e.g. process improvement, support SW team, maintenance, review PCB layout etc.

Your background
Experience within functional safety for electronics modules and systems.
Preferably experience with development of power electronics.
Some knowledge about standards like ISO 10218-1, IEC 13849-1, IEC 61508, UL1740.
Analytical mind and ability to make sound decisions.
Preferably M.Sc. Engineering within Safety Critical Control Systems, Electronics, Robotics or similar
As a person, you should be positive, humble, self-driven, and result-oriented with excellent collabo-ration skills.
