hela Sverige As our FA engineer you will conduct detailed failure analysis based on standard checking procedures and laboratory test. By utilizing in-depth product knowledge, fail-tracking procedures and debugging expertise, the primary objective of your tasks is to find the true failure root causes, as well as evolve and refine the diagnostic test procedures.
You will have to involve supporting functions or other colleagues for contribution in the analysis, request Supplier RCA (root-cause analysis) support and expert investigation, analyzes received information from suppliers and experts, identify most plausible failure causes, and documents final conclusions. You will play a key-role in a small FA team within the GAP HW R&D.
You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, along with at least five years' experience in a relevant field.
In order to succeed in this role, the following competences are required:
• Broad HW electronics design knowledge including
-Analog signal processing chains
-Communications interfaces and standards
-Power supplies, DC/DC converters
-CPU board architectures
• Test and verification of analog and digital electronics including the building of measurement setups
• Overall product/platform know-how (GA Products)
• Fluency in English is required. Swedish is qualifying.
On a personal level, you are analytical, proactive and focus-oriented with a deep interest in electronics analysis and a focus on product quality. Furthermore, you are a team player with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
You will be part of Grid Automation Products (GAP) in Västerås.
We are responsible for development, marketing and sales as well as manufacturing of protection and control products for power generation, transmission and sub-transmission network applications. The unit's product offer includes IED:s in the Relion 670/650 series. The unit also offers services, for example education that enables the customers to obtain maximal benefit from their investment in ABB's protection and control solutions.
