Powder Injection Molding is a section of the Blanks department, where three technicians and five research engineers work together, primarily with the task of delivering process solutions for developing new, exciting products for Coromant. We are currently looking for an R&D Engineer and a Senior R&D Engineer, who will have the chance to take part in developing our section. The positions will be placed in Västberga, with part time work (~50%) in Sandviken, Sweden.
Key performance areas
Both positions involve exploratory work on process and equipment; within the field of sintering of hard metal and the use of organic binders. The positions are similar and require a high level of initiative and hands-on work in our lab, but with certain differences. The Senior R&D Engineer will build a network with overall responsibility for contact with universities and other research centers, as well as other Sandvik units.
Your profile
Both positions require a Master's in Engineering with a relevant focus on Technical Physics, Chemistry or another materials science area. A PhD within a relevant field can be advantageous. Professional experience from a relevant technical area and research environment is also advantageous, as is knowledge of hard materials or additive manufacturing/3D printing. Good English skills, both writing and verbal, are a prerequisite, while knowledge of Swedish is advantageous.
If you are applying for the R&D Engineer position, you should be a thorough problem solver who can work hands-on and independently, as you will be working in a specialized area with advanced technology.
If you are applying for the Senior R&D Engineer position, you should be a structured, communicative, individual with high technical competence familiar with hands-on work in the lab who is both imaginative and full of initiative.
