Hexagem AB is a start-up company in Lund that specializes in developing a unique technology for microLED wafers that offers unprecedented efficiency even for pixel sizes below 1 micron. Our cutting-edge technology will enable future high-resolution, directly emissive displays for key applications such as smartphones, smartwatches, head-up displays, as well as within virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated R&D engineer to join our team and help in developing our microLED materials in the GaN/InGaN/AlGaN material system. In this position, you will be responsible for development of processing and characterization of InGaN material and will hold a key position in developing microLED prototypes.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute process flows for creating LED prototypes, including basic materials characterization techniques.
• Analyze and interpret characterization results and provide recommendations to improve fabrication processes
• Collaborate with the team to optimize material and processing development efforts
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in the field of microLED materials and technologies
• Continuously learn and grow by exploring new ideas and approaches to advance the technology and improve the characterization methods
Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in the field of physics, material science, or nanotechnology, or another related field
• Experience with semiconductor device physics and fabrication processes
• Knowledge of advanced processing and semiconductor characterization methods, in particular chemical mechanical polishing and EBSD, is advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Hands-on, proactive, and goal-oriented mindset
