To the Digital Machining Innovation team - where we all share a passion for innovation and developing new solutions - we are looking for an R&D Engineer in Mechatronics- someone who is motivated by the opportunity to work in the forefront of technical development in a truly international setting. The location for the position is Sandviken/Stockholm, Sweden.

Key performance areas
In this position as R&D Engineer, you are responsible for building knowledge and tools that will be applied in our product development projects within the following areas;
• Modeling and simulation of mechanical design , FEM and dynamic systems and controls
• Machine tools CNC/PLC control interface and machining process optimization
• Development of algorithms for control of mechanical devices and machines, signal analysis, diagnostics and process monitoring and user interfaces
• Software development for embedded systems
• Design of devices containing mechanical hardware, microelectronics, sensors, wireless communication and programming
• Ensuring product reliability, security, robustness and troubleshooting
In addition, you facilitate and encourage knowledge sharing by participating in technology monitoring in electronics, control, automation, sensors, big data analysis, visualization and signal analysis. You also take part in the training of Sandvik Coromant's staff and customers and in the development of working methods, intelligent tools and processes.

You report directly to the Manager Intelligent Tools,

We are looking for someone with a Master's in Mechatronics, CNC/PLC Control and Automation, Electronics or Embedded Systems and Control. You have experience from modeling, simulation and visualization of mechanical and control systems and have developed algorithms for control of mechanical devices and machines, signal analysis, diagnostics and process monitoring as well as for user interfaces. Your background includes developing software for embedded systems and designing sensor integrated devices and you have extensive knowledge of wireless communication and programming. You are also well prepared for troubleshooting and ensuring product reliability, security and robustness. As we are based in Sweden and act on act on the international arena, your communication skills in Swedish and English are excellent, both verbally and in writing.
