We will launch a range of electric vehicles over next three years. Polestar 1 has been presented, and another two models, Polestar 2 and 3, have been announced and are already under development.

The Role

Polestar is doing what no-one in the Volvo Car family has done before. For that, we are now looking for people like you - bright minds with a dedication to electrification - to join our R&D team. Your solid experience in the Battery area will be important when doing work in the advanced engineering phase as well as in optimizing current designs for increased customer satisfaction levels. Cost and quality design analyses and modifications will also be part of the EV Battery Engineer role for High Voltage Battery System. System engineering with good knowledge in details are important in this battery engineer role.

What you will do

• Technical source of EV Battery system design
• Requirement engineering regarding Cell, Energy, Performance, Life Cycle, EMC, Thermal and Mechanical and others
• System design and balancing the different requirements
• Project management, cost and time planning
• Supplier contacts
• Supplier and Contractors evaluations

Who you are

An EV-nerd with strong communication skills. You like to work within a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication. You have a holistic view, including vision, business, and customers.

In order to be successful, we believe your background includes

• Electrical or Mechanical University degree or equivalent competence
• 5 years' work experience with Electric Vehicle development within Electric Propulsion System
• Worked with an international supply chain in a lead role
• Automotive design and validation experience
• Experience in specification writing
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
