At R&D Materials and Processes in Västberga, Stockholm, there are about 150 employees with more than 20 nationalities. The TRMA/Rotating department is comprised of about ten people, both technicians and engineers. Working with other units, their mission is to develop new cutting material for milling and drilling and verify the performance of cutting products, both in the lab and in the field.
We are now looking for an R&D CNC Technician for our operations in Västberga, Stockholm.
Key performance areas
As an R&D CNC Technician you will operate CNC machines and be a member of various project teams conducting development work. Test assignments include measurements and microscope study. You'll get the chance to study wear mechanisms, as your own observations and interpretations will be vital for the test evaluation. You will also be responsible for CNC programming and maintenance. The position involves an active exchange with customers and other Sandvik units, both in and outside Sweden.
Limited traveling, primarily field visits to customers outside Sweden, may be necessary. You will report to the Manager for TRMA/Rotating.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who is curious and interested in technology, and who enjoys taking part in developing new products. We assume you have previously worked as a CNC operator or have another relevant background. Graduation from a high school technical, engineering and/or theoretical program is advantageous, as is experience from a manufacturing industry and work with metal cutting processes. Basic knowledge of English, both verbal and written, is a prerequisite for this position.
As a person you are able to work independently, are structured in your work, have a high degree of quality consciousness and are service minded. You have good cooperative skills and are willing and able to work to reach established targets. To be comfortable in the role of an R&D CNC Technician, you must also be persistent and patient. Additionally, you must take responsibility, be observant and have the ability to react to deviations.
