Profile
Act as the main technical adviser on construction sites; plan, organise and supervise construction activity on site, ensuring company policy is always upheld.
Responsible, along with the senior management on site, for health and safety and the organisation and supervision of project planning to completion, material and labour.
Key Responsibilities:
1: Cost Engineering
Measure, record & value work in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures.

2: Estimating:
Measure & interpret specifications & drawings.
Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates.
Translate measurement from drawings and Specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates.

3: Planning:
Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works.
Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes;
Provide an understanding of delay and disruption to programme.

4: Project Management:
Collate Cost and Value Information.
Prepare Cost reconciliation statements.

5: Procurement:
Collect information required to specify procurement requirements.
Record and document information including registration of interest.

6: Commercial Management:
Undertake customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility.
Collation of cost and value information.
Measure works and agreements with subcontractors.

Person Specifications and Skills
Degree or equivalent (HNC/HND) or qualified by experience
Excellent communication and teamwork
Achievement focused
Previous Commercial Work experience.
Thorough knowledge of the Build and Residential Groundworks sectors
Previous experience working for a Regional Contractor in a similar role on projects valued up to £10m
Commercial awareness
IT proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook). Speaks English fluently to professional standard
Desirable: speaks German, Dutch, Romanian or another European language
