As you can imagine, keeping track of over 1 000 000 connected customer assets rolling around the world is indeed a challenge. Now ponder, that vehicles in a few years will be autonomous - and you've got the challenge of your life. Our Technology team manages the development and maintenance of our global connectivity platform - and your experience is needed.
We are now looking for a software Quality Lead within the Technology function in Volvo Group Connected Solutions. The Quality Lead works with the leadership teams to build a customer-focused culture that is continuously improving the systems that deliver success. In this role you will be using your collaboration, analytic and change agent skills to lead both proactive and reactive quality actions together with our DevSecOps teams.
The role
The role as Quality Lead is both a visionary and a practical role. You develop and communicate a vision for quality-and then back it up with action. The role of the Quality Lead is to ensure that the organization makes decisions based on facts and data. At the same time, the Quality Lead understands that people are the drivers of quality and change, and helps people understand their role in achieving the vision.
The area of responsibility includes orchestrating both proactive and reactive quality activities and is a complement to the responsibility already taken by the DevSecOps teams and the Product Owners. Some main ingredients of the role are:
Develop and communicate a vision for quality
Conduct data-driven analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance
Drive quality assurance activities that span across several teams
Drive complex problem solving involving many teams
Drive Problem Management (driving Root Cause Analysis and initiating actions)
Drive continuous improvements in our services to improve customers' perceived quality
Drive and execute local and central change initiatives. Act as a change agent in the teams throughout the organization - "walk the talk"
Your profile
For this position we put high focus on leadership skills and attitude but also on the ability to learn and understand our services and how they impact our solutions, i.e. Volvo Connect. You challenge the status quo, are not afraid to ask why and dig deeper for answers and are willing to try new strategies and technologies. You embody a culture of quality by taking details seriously, addressing issues proactively and following up on problems. You have a common-sense approach and easily interact with other people and enable collaboration. You have a passion for securing quality for our customers and a passion for learning.
We believe that you have:
Experience from software quality work and a good understanding of software development in general
Experience from driving projects/initiatives and proven track record of leading people in a global organization
Process knowledge - ITIL, ITSM
Experience from telematics/connected vehicles
A university degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent experience as basis for your career
Fluent skills in English - both written and spoken. Fluency in Swedish is a merit.
