LV Motors, which is part of the business unit Motors & Generators, develops, produces and sells low voltage AC and DC machines in aluminum and cast iron within the shaft height range 100-280 mm and power range up to 125 kW. The unit currently employs around 200 people.
Tasks
Our Supply department has recently contracted many new suppliers and as one of our three Quality Engineers, you will have the opportunity to form our organization and structure. We work with suppliers from all over the world, but mostly from Europe and Asia. You will have full responsibility for developing suppliers to ensure the right quality. Therefore, you will implement changes both within the suppliers? and our own organization when necessary. In collaboration with colleagues at Purchasing, you will monitor and follow up on complaints as well as evaluate both new and existing suppliers and introduce them to ABB?s system. The position involves a lot of business trips to foreign countries so part of your challenge will be to understand their culture and interpret information correctly. As quality responsible, you will also deal with questions concerning deliveries, planning and environmental issues. This mixture of tasks and opportunity to gain insight in several different areas provide you with the chance to grow professionally within many of ABB?s various business fields.
Requirements
You preferably have a Technical university degree and experience from ISO revisions such as ISO9001 and ISO14001. To this you can add at least five years? experience in the field of technology or production. Moreover, you are computer literate and preferably familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC), 6-Sigma and Lean production. Fluency in Swedish and English is required while knowledge in Italian, Spanish or Chinese is positive. You are a responsible person who moves the department ahead of competition and independently makes sure to prevent any anticipated problem. In addition, you are an outgoing and curious team player who enjoys traveling and meeting new people.
