Quality Engineer - Caterpillar Propulsion

Caterpillar Propulsion’s Quality Department is expanding in order to maintain our high quality standards. We strive to reach our vision to be a better choice for all our existing and future customers and our department is responsible to ensure the standards on quality, reliability and performance of our products.

As Quality Engineer you are responsible to support the business in ensuring that our products are delivered according to the customer and classification society’s requirements. On a day to day basis you will communicate with our 3rd party classification associations as well as internal production management making sure that product classification align with delivery timelines. You will follow our orders from production start until delivery and ensure that all documentation work crucial for product classification is in place.

Main responsibilities

• Support the business in ensuring that the products are delivered in a quality and timely manner according to the specifications and customer and classification society’s requirements
• Coordinate classification survey verification and inspection visits
• Liaise and follow-up with classification societies on certificate and inspection issues
• Support business in delivering classification documents to customer upon delivery of our orders
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality and environmental issues
• Promote quality and environmental awareness throughout the company

Required qualifications

• Technical bachelor’s degree, diploma in quality engineering or equivalent
• Experience from quality engineering and or manufacturing is meritorious
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Driver license level B
• Familiar with classification society requirements and rules is meritorious as well as experience from the marine industry

• Driven and positive mindset
• Able to work independently
• High people orientation i.e. cooperation, social flexibility and sensitivity
• High intellectual ability i.e. good communication and logical reasoning skills
