Volvo Cars believes the electrification of the automotive industry will be a gradual process, meaning there will be significant ongoing demand for efficient hybrid powertrains alongside fully electric offerings.
All operations connected with ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) will be gathered in this new entity, under the leadership of CEO Michael Fleiss. The goal is to have this new entity up and running in Q1 2020.
To meet the challenges in growing this new entity we are now looking for a Controller for ICE to, together with the entity management, lead the future development of this organisation.
What you 'll do:
Since ICE is in its build up phase, it's important that you appreciate and feel comfortable working in an environment where processes and way of working are yet to be defined and where you need to be active in the process of identifying them.
You will be a key player in the development of the finance function for ICE with the purpose to drive, challenge and support the operations to secure financial performance. In this work you will participate in the development of targets and other relevant KPI 's and work with the follow up of them.
Within this work you will ensure the finance efficiency (ie right activities at right time at right quality) of the ICE organisation with a special focus on the following functions as the ICE quality controller:
• ICE engineering, program and product streams.
• Procurement and admin (IT/Finance/HR)
You will work closely with ICE quality team mgmt. to create understanding of their finance impact and being the "go-to" person for your business in finance matters. You will steer and challenge the operation towards fulfilment of financial targets as well as drive operational efficiency. You will create meaning for the business using data from systems like SAP, Pecca Procost, Qlikview etc. More importantly you will drive the set up of the ICE quality and warranty finance process and system. You will collaborate with, support and get support from, other finance teams. You will identify waste in the finance processes and actively contributing in reducing it and management the risks. You will participate in the preparation of the business set up with Geely including finance matters within carve-out, due diligence and valuation.
Who you are:
In order to be successful in this role we believe you have a University degree in Finance (or similar), or substantial relevant experience. Additionally, you are able to understand, interpret and communicate financial information in a clear and concise way.
You understand and feel comfortable with relations between P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash-flow items. Furthermore, you enjoy working with numbers, fact-based analysis and easily find your way in different IT systems.
You should have a finance experience from Quality, R&D, Procurement or admin functions within Volvo Cars. Proven record in using business acumen in terms of driving and delivering decisions/ strategic initiatives towards business targets would be beneficial. In addition, experiences from quality/warranty systems/processes are preferred.
You are outspoken, transparent and enjoy working in a diverse team. You have great analytical skills, strong business understanding, high integrity and a positive willingness to change and are an excellent organizer with a holistic view and an eye for details.
