The modernization means introduction of IP transmission, at least doubled CS capacity, higher data rates, lower latency and architectural convergence of the different Radio Access Networks (RAN) technologies. As the dominating standard GSM plays a key role in the convergence, which gives us a number of technical challenges and opportunities over the coming years.
Our unit has the technical responsibility for the Base Station System (BSS) and Base Station Controller (BSC) product in GSM. In line with the GSM Product strategies our unit, BSS and BSC System, has the responsibility to develop and maintain the BSS and BSC system and to secure the performance, within the different project releases as well as for the product life cycle. Our mission is to ensure that Ericsson retains and strengthens its position as a leading supplier of GSM/EDGE.
Job description
We are now looking for System Engineers. You will be working in close cooperation with product management and the development organization taking responsibility for implementation of new functionality in the GSM RAN. The responsibility stretches through all parts of the development cycle:
Research, standardization and simulation of new functions in our pre-development project
Pre-studies specifying how new functions shall be implemented in our products
Follow the implementation in our products through design, verification and to customer acceptance to ensure that the functions meet the expectations
Qualifications
We are looking for a person with strong ambitions to learn new things and to achieve results.
You have a Master of Science or corresponding University studies or relevant similar training and experience.
Experience and interest of SW development.
A broad telecom knowledge base and ability to learn new technology quickly
Experience of GSM system is meriting
You need to be a self driven, team player that works well externally and internally in the organization
Ability to see the big picture, find solutions and drive them to conclusion in an often complex environment.
Good communicative skills in English and Swedish both verbally and in writing.
