Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

The Cluster GUI team at Driver Systems - Embedded Software & Functions department is looking for experienced UI Developers.

What you will do

As a member of our team, you will develop the graphical user interface for our next generation Instrument Cluster, our main way of interacting with the driver of our heavy trucks and buses.

Your tasks will be gathering and clarifying requirements, developing GUI and being responsible for the technical feasibility of GUI implementation as well as functional level testing and documentation activities.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues at Interaction Design as well as colleagues at Cluster Software and System platform teams. You will have the possibility to build a wide network at Scania.

Your role is an important part of a vital project, bringing you close to the action. The system in which the UI resides is a high-performance ECU making it possible to enable hardware-independent software development

Your profile

We are currently looking for an independent developer who easily adapts to changing circumstances and who sees change as an opportunity. You are creative and innovative. You have a good ability to work together with others and are happy to share knowledge within the team.

Example qualifications:

• Understanding how QML renders scenes, graphical objects
• Dynamic object creation in QML (creating QML objects with JS and with native QML components, object deletion, asynchronous loading, asynchronous object creation)
• Understanding model-view-delegate concept and Creating QML types in C++
• Graphical effects and how they affect performance

Essential Skills:

• 3-5 years relevant work experience
• Experience in QT/ QML and UI Coding
• C++
• Proficient understanding/knowledge of code versioning tools, such as Git or similar
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Academic degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar field

What makes you stand out:

• Experience from working with embedded systems, preferable embedded automotive systems
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet
• Drivers Licence for heavy vehicles (Swedish C - level)
