This role is within our Consumer Commercial Digital Products (CCDP) team, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. There's no reason the experience of buying a car should be painful and difficult - it should be as enjoyable and exciting as actually having a new car. That is our mission. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars.
We are looking for a skilled and ambitious QA Manager that will be an important part of building up our in-house development teams in terms of Quality Assuring work. Our strategy is to automate as much of our testing as possible. Your focus will be to greatly enhance the quality of the software delivering services that comes as a part of buying or owning a Volvo Cars.
The work is situated in our new offices close to Gothenburg City in Gamlestaden or in Stockholm.
Responsibilities
Among your responsibilities will be to develop the QA practices and strategies for our new in-house development teams. You will, in collaboration with the teams, set the guidelines and requirements on the test practices in the development process. As you will lead the QA work in your area you will control and manage difficulties that arise in different projects during testing. The majority of your time will be spent on developing testware and the rest of your time you will be managing a development team with responsibility for hiring, compensation and career development.
Skills
As a manager we expect you to be good at leading, mentoring and guiding your team members. We think you should have at least 5 years of experience in testing of business software applications and web based applications. You should have an ability to triage failures and define corrective actions. You have a desire to work in strong collaboration with different stakeholders and have a passion for technology and software quality. Knowledge of SQL, scripting languages and Open Source testing tolls are important for the success in this position.
