Opera Software seeks exceptional and experienced QA Engineers to join its TV & Devices team.

Opera is the market leader in providing browsers for Smart TVs, Blu-ray Disc players, set-top boxes and game consoles. Its software is already used in tens of millions of consumer devices from leading vendors, including Sony, Samsung, Philips, Toshiba, Sharp, Vestel and Ericsson. As more and more living room devices are becoming connected, this is a fast- moving, dynamic industry.

Opera is implementing features to enable TV specific use-cases, such as HTML5-based TV apps, device UI and HbbTV. As a QA engineer in the TV team, you will be developing automated test cases for these features, interpreting results and analyzing reported issues. You will be involved in overall product quality from test planning, implementation of test infrastructure and developing tools for monitoring memory consumption and performance.

You will be working with some of the best engineers in the industry, in an international environment with colleagues and customers all over the world.

Responsibilities
• Participate and contribute in all forms of product quality improvement.
• Write and review test cases, execute tests and analyze test results.
• Work closely with developers to resolve issues in the most efficient way.

Requirements
• Experience in automated testing.
• Good working knowledge of at least one scripting language.
• Good knowledge of browsers and web technology.
• Drive and commitment to work independently and take initiatives.
• Fluency in English.

Ideal job requirements
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with embedded systems, especially in the TV space.
• Linux experience.
• Python skills.
