The International School of Helsingborg (ISH) is a K-12 school with over 500 students from numerous European countries, North and South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. ISH was started in 1995 to answer a growing demand for a truly international education and it is part of the school organization in the city of Helsingborg. ISH currently employs a faculty of 64 full-time and part-time teachers from19 countries, with 2office staff.The teachers reflect the international qualities of the school.
As well as being a public Swedish school, ISH is an IB World School authorized to teach the Diploma Programme, Middle Years Programme and Primary Years Programme. ISH is also currently a CIS candidate school. The school is located on two campuses with DP students close to the Swedish national upper secondary programmes while PYP and MYP are housed together on a nearby site.
We seek to develop the academic and social potential of our students, preparing each of them for a successful role in the global community, through a holistic curriculum which encourages international awareness and understanding.
We are seeking to appoint an engaged and dynamic Principal with proven leadership and management skills. She/he will be internationally minded and posses a passion for international education. She/he will have strong communication skills and fluency in English. The PYP Principal/Coordinator will lead and oversee the Primary Years Programme.

Our PYP Principal is to lead and oversee the operation of the PYP, respecting the school's values. She/he will have overall responsibility for:
• Managing the PYP in accordance with the policies and guidelines established by the Municipality, as well as the criteria set by the governing national authorities and the IB organization;
• Providing educational leadership and vision for the long-term educational benefit of the student population;
• Managing learning support and the student welfare team
• Staff appraisals and managing EYP Coordinator
• School calendar organization
• Balance budget and quality reporting
• Parent liaison
Responsibilities as PYP Coordinator
• Organize staff development (IB courses, on-site courses, use of OCC, student-led learning, working through the Making it Happen, IB practices and standards)
• Ensuring IB philosophy is maintained at school
• Updating and working with curriculum (IB phases and incorporating Swedish national curriculum)
• Working with Managebac (reporting system and IB planners)
• Educate community/parents members about PYP
• Releases teachers to observe/plan
• Maintain PYP records
• Offer support in planning/planners
• Ensure Making it Happen is followed
• Make sure POI is evaluated, reviewed and updated (and worked on vertically and horizontally)
• Ensure use of the OCC
• Make sure Essential Agreements are updated
• Role model lessons as desired by staff with use of profile words, inquiry based learning or concept driven teaching
KvalifikationerQualities
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Principal with proven leadership. She/he will have a proven track record in a multi-cultural setting, a deep understanding of, and passion for, international education, together with high-level presentation, negotiation, speaking and intercultural skills.
