The International School of Älmhult has grown rapidly since it opened in year 2000 and has a current population of over 400 students in a brand new school building.
WORK TASKS
The International School of Älmhult was authorised for The International Baccalaureate's Primary Years Programme in May 2003 and for The Middle Years Programme in May 2009. The school has a friendly atmosphere, classes are small and all lessons are given in English.
We are now looking for a PYP coordinator assistant at 40 percent. The applicant will:
• Carry out tasks outlined in IBO PYP coordinators list of responsibilities.
• Ensure that school and students comply with IBO regulations.
• Lead the curricular development of PYP
• Work with MYP coordinator and PYP Deputy Head to develop transition within school programmes.
• Complete all documentation in English.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholder and in all formats (presentations, one on one, small group, etc).
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with IB training who is an excellent, flexible and effective communicator in all forms of English, written and spoken. The successful applicant will also:
• Be able to respond positively to change.
• Be able to collaborate effectively.
• Work positively and effectively with staff and parents.
• Be able to lead the development of the IB curriculum with coming changes.
Additionally, any of the following should be met:
• Leadership experience
• IB evaluation or authorization experience
Preference may be given to:
• Ability to read and speak basic Swedish
• Understanding of the Swedish school system
