Purchasing Manager - Body Electronics, Power and Comfort Electronics

As PURCHASING MANAGER you will be a part of Purchasing team Electrical & Electronics Purchasing. Our team is responsible for the procurement of all commodities within the Electrical and Electronics area. We purchase production material to advanced engineering projects, new car programs and running production for all Volvo Cars' manufacturing plants. Some of our main purchased commodities are Wiring Harnesses, Security and Body Electronics, Power Supply, Comfort Electronics & Driver Interaction, Infotainment, Active Safety and HEV Applications.
In your role as Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for Body Electronics, Power and Comfort Electronics. This is an exciting opportunity for you to take on a very important role in the shaping of a truly global purchasing organisation. The team set up is new as from 4th of June 2012 and includes buyers both in Shanghai, China and Gothenburg, Sweden. The manager will be based in Gothenburg.
Job profile:
• Responsible to build and develop a global team that manages the global purchasing within the commodity scope
• Support the team and contribute to the personal development of the team members
• Responsible for target fulfillment and to report of results
• Member of Electrical Purchasing Management team
• Overall responsible for supplier base and strategy development
Your profile:
• Preferably experience from a strategic buyer role or a managerial position within purchasing
• Commercial or technical university degree or equivalent
• Leadership experience
• Technical knowledge/experience/interest
• Team player with ability to inspire people
• Focus on target
• Positive mindset
• Integrity
• Analytic ability and mathematics skills
• Comfortable to present to a big audience
• Computer skills (MS Office with good knowledge of Excel is required)
• Good communication skills in English, written and spoken
