Purchasing Manager Inbound

The role Purchasing Manager Inbound is located in IDP (Indirect Purchasing Department) at Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) Purchasing organisation. This is a tactical and operational Purchasing Management position with responsibility for procurement of products and services.

Global logistics is part of Indirect Purchasing and is responsible for all sourcing of logistic activities and packaging globally. As VCC expands its manufacturing footprint, Global Logistics need to expand in order to support the logistic needs globally.

The main tasks in this position will be to lead and develop the purchasing activities within the group. The right candidate has preferably a background within logistics and a good knowledge of procurement of logistics solutions. You have been working in a leading position and experience from the automotive industry can be an advantage.

Job profile:

• Manage the development of commodity strategies for the defined commodity scope, based on IDP's objectives and strategies, benchmark together with internal stakeholders.
• Manage, prioritize and allocate the work in order to facilitate continuous improvements and effectiveness within IDP
• Create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Participate in cross-functional councils and management meetings
• Contribute to reducing the purchasing cost within the commodity scope
• Human Resource responsibility for a group of 5 purchasers
• Responsibility that the group delivers in accordance with Purchasing and IDP business plan and policies and procedures for VCC and Purchasing
• Actively strive for continuous improvements of purchasing processes and cost for commodity scope

Your profile:

• University degree or equivalent work experience
• Purchasing process knowledge
• Commercial drive and result oriented
• Knowledge from logistics
• Strong leadership and teambuilding skills
• Good communication skills
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
• Capability to operate in a global and complex environment
