Overview
As a multinational company, SCA operates in many global markets and has to deal with increasing and diverse legislative frameworks that have impact on its business. In this arena, the number of actors that are simultaneously driving their various agendas has increased and the issues raised by external stakeholders have multiplied. Public Affairs work with SCA Group and Business Units in adapting their strategies to meet or gain competitive advantage through public policy.
We are now looking for a Public Affairs Director to strengthen our SCA Group Public Affairs team which is part of Group Function Sustainability and Public Affairs.
Sustainability and Public Affairs, as part of SCA's business model, is based on economic, environmental and social value creation. We have high ambitions and targets to continuously develop the sustainability agenda and to keep our position as a sustainability leader.
Reporting to the Vice President Public Affairs, the Public Affairs Director provides direction and management of SCA’s public affairs activities within Forest, Fiber & Energy globally. The role also develop and deliver SCA’s public affairs agenda in key prioritised areas in co-operation with Business units. The Public Affairs Director is also responsible of positioning SCA in defined public policy issues through dialogue and proactive communication and to represent SCA in key international organizations.
This position will be located at the SCA’s head office in the Waterfront Building in Stockholm, which houses the central units for Finance, Strategy and Business Development, Legal, Sustainability, Human Resources and Communications. Some 150 specialists work in an international environment where business processes are promoted through the global networks in the countries where SCA is represented. There is also a possibility to be located in Brussels.

Main Tasks
Lead and develop SCA Global Public Affairs networks (Fiber, Energy) and working groups
Map and prioritize leading global stakeholders for prioritized issues and policies; develop stakeholder mapping including legislation and policy
Develop an issues management process for SCA prioritised corporate issues
Monitor and assess legal and public policy developments in SCA business relevant issues, both global and local. Analyses and propose actions.
Define PA strategy and tools (position papers, fact sheets, supporting materials, etc.) for prioritized public policy issues in alignment with, and support to Business Units and Communications
Develop SCA main policy messages and targeted advocacy plan and accountabilities in prioritized issues (Forest, Fiber & Energy). Monitor progress and propose actions
Develop SCA corporate public affairs positioning and lead engagement with governments and stakeholders internationally (EU, embassies, NGOs etc.)
Position SCA through building relationships and engagement with prioritised stakeholders
Represent SCA in relevant trade associations (CEPI, CGF, others)
Coordinate third party provider selection and mgmt

Key Competencies
University degree within the areas political science, law, economy, science.
5-10 years’ work experience within FMCG, Forest industry or Healthcare industry and/or relevant public role
Minimum 5 years’ experience operating at senior levels in industry (ideally with Public Affairs responsibilities) and/or trade associations/NGOs/National Governments/EU Commission
